I’m Michelle, I applied for a Care Worker role over 3 years ago and relocated to Wales where my now husband is from, at the time, my daughter suggested that I apply for this work in Wales as there are lots of older people here! She was right, there are and why wouldn’t you live or retire and have a quality of life which is second to none, cleaner air, and beautiful scenery. I have never looked back, I thought it would be a simple job, making tea and chatting to people. How wrong was I? It has turned into a rewarding career, I have gained a qualification, become Registered and been promoted to Supervisor, a Role I really love. I received my 3 years’ service award last year benefitting from a pay increase and extra leave entitlement. I never dreamed I’d go from making coffee to becoming a Professional Care Worker.
I have a great work life balance which allows me time off to visit my family in the Midlands and be a part of my grandson’s life, they love to visit nana by the seaside and on my days off we make happy memories. I work with a great team and we support one another in providing the highest possible standard of care that is required of a TLC Care Worker, I was given training and support when I started and encouraged to further my career to pass on my knowledge and experience to others. I would encourage people looking for a new challenge in 2022 to come and join one of our teams.
