I started working for TLC almost 8 years ago and have never looked back. My previous life involved painting and decorating and managing health and safety in a hotel environment, this work couldn’t be more different, I love it. I am part of the ‘TLC family’, quite literally, I am married to Cathy, one of the Directors. This doesn’t always work in my favour because my colleagues think I’m a ‘spy’ but I say that with my tongue in my cheek because I get on with all I work with.
The relationships I have built with the service users’ is great, built on mutual respect, they seem to brighten up when I walk in and this is the feeling that makes the job so satisfying, feeling that you are making a difference to someone’s life. I am almost mature enough to retire but have decided that I will keep going for as long as I can.
