Finding a positive work, life balance has enabled Jess to make a difference to the individuals she supports in the community
Hi, I’m Jess and I recently joined one of the teams at TLC, having never been a care worker before, I didn’t know what to expect. I certainly didn’t think I would love it as much as I do. It is nice to be able to work hours around my children and come home feeling that I have made an important difference to somebody’s life, helping people to stay in their own home for as long as they can, supporting these people to stay as independent as they can be and respecting the choices they make. I received training and was taken out to be shown how to work, by, supervisors and more experienced care workers. I am confident now and enjoy meeting new service users and care workers when out and about doing my rounds. It has given me a new career and I look forward to becoming Registered and embarking on a qualification in the future, who knows, one day I might be a supervisor too?
