Lanka, one of the newest Care Workers to join TLC, recently surprised the team with a thank you cake she baked herself.
And it isn't just any cake. Right in the middle sits a yellow daffodil, the flower at the heart of the TLC logo, with a green ribbon reading "Since 2008". Around it runs a ring of yellow flowers, green leaves and pearls, with "THANX TLC" spelled out top and bottom.
It's a lovely gesture, and knowing Lanka baked it herself makes it even more special. Picking out our daffodil and the year we started says a lot about how quickly Lanka has become part of the team.
Truth be told, the thanks should go both ways. Starting out in care means learning new routines, new colleagues and new clients all at once. We're really glad to have Lanka with us, and we hope the welcome has felt as warm as this gesture.
Thank you, Lanka. It looked almost too good to eat.
