Chaseley House passes CIW inspection with no compliance issues

CIW inspection report for Chaseley House 2025

We are delighted to share the findings from our most recent Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) inspection at Chaseley House, carried out in November 2024 and published in January 2025. The inspection found no compliance issues, and we are proud of the hard work every member of our team puts in every single day to make that possible.

About the inspection

Chaseley House is registered with CIW as a Care Home Service for Adults Without Nursing, with a capacity of 15 residents. The inspection covered four key areas: well-being, care and support, environment, and leadership and management.

What inspectors found

Residents told inspectors they are happy with the support they receive. One resident said: "Staff always have a smile on their face. They know me, and I know them. We get on very well." That kind of feedback means more to us than any formal rating.

Inspectors noted that residents have real control over their daily lives, with personal care plans tailored to individual preferences and reviewed regularly. Meals are well-presented, residents choose where they eat, and activities such as quizzes and religious services are available throughout the week.

The home was found to be clean, safe and well-maintained. All rooms now have ensuite bathrooms, the outdoor garden is well-kept, and robust infection prevention measures are in place. The home holds the highest possible food safety rating.

Our team

One of the highlights of the report was the feedback about our staff. Inspectors observed warm, attentive care and strong relationships between residents and the team. A member of staff shared: "I feel valued because they know my strengths and support me to use them and develop in my role." That is exactly the culture we work hard to build.

Staffing levels were found to be sufficient, with thorough vetting, induction and ongoing training in place. Staff receive regular supervision and annual appraisals, and specialist training is provided where residents have specific needs.

Leadership and governance

The Responsible Individual visits the home regularly, gathers feedback from residents and families, and oversees six-monthly quality-of-care reviews. Regular audits are carried out and any suggested improvements are acted upon ahead of the next inspection cycle.

No compliance issues

We are pleased to confirm that no compliance issues were identified during this inspection. It is a reflection of the commitment and care shown by everyone at Chaseley House, and we thank our residents, their families, and our wonderful team for making it the place it is.

The full inspection report is available on the Care Inspectorate Wales website.
